Entertainment: Diddy's got a New Name - Again
His fans know him as Puffy, Puff Daddy or P. Diddy. But now the hip-hop impresario and fashion designer wants to make his name easier for his fans.
So now he's dropping the "P" from his stage name. From now on, it's just Diddy.
"We are entering into the age of Diddy," the rap star told the syndicated TV show Access Hollywood. It's a new era."
He says he wants to simplify his image in advance of hosting the MTV Video Music Awards on August 28.
"Diddy" was born Sean John Combs to Melvin and Janice Combs on Nov. 4, 1969.
Sean John is also the name of Combs' clothing line.
