Local News: TUMF: Canada's Largest Urban Music Celebration Black Habits Articles Canada's largest urban music festival is back for a tenth slammin' summer. Taking place at the CNE on Friday September 1st and Saturday September 2nd, this year's festival promises to be the biggest yet.

The Toronto International Urban Music Festival (TUMF) 2006, presented by WORD Magazine, continues to showcase the best in urban music and lifestyle since 1997.

On Friday, September 1st, the inaugural Toronto Urban Music Festival Urban Dance Showcase will take place featuring an entertaining showcase of Canadian and international dance talent.

On Saturday, September 2nd the festival will continue at the CNE Bandshell with a concert and artist showcase featuring SLUM VILLAGE with a special tribute to J Dilla as well as a Canadian Independent Urban artist showcase. More artists TBA.

Festival celebrations continue on Sunday, September 3rd with the 4th annual Toronto International Poetry Slam. Produced by Up From The Roots Entertainment in association with the Toronto Urban Music Festival, TIPS will feature some of the world's top spoken word artists from Canada, the U.S. and the U.K.

The 10th anniversary celebrations of the Toronto Urban Music Festival will also include a music conference and a film festival. Both days of programming at the CNE Bandshell will also include an Urban Marketplace, food vendors, a beer tent, prizes and more.

Toronto Urban Music Festival Incorporated is a non-profit organization dedicated to showcasing the best in Canadian and international urban music and multidisciplinary talent in a festival setting.
